Metro Partners with Georgetown and Catholic Universities to Expand U-Pass Program
Georgetown University’s Capitol Campus and The Catholic University of America are joining a growing network of colleges and universities in the region that partner with Metro to provide eligible students with affordable, convenient transportation throughout the academic year.

Last month, The Coalition’s DC Anchor Partnership (DCAP), through its partnership with the Washington Area Community Investment Fund (WACIF) and in collaboration with the Georgetown University Office of Sustainability, hosted its second annual Vendor Connection Day. This year, centered on sustainability and the growing green economy.

ICC Roof Replacement & Solar Panel Project – Community Impacts
Georgetown has committed to advancing sustainability on campus by utilizing renewable energy and investing in energy efficient operations. Georgetown has several buildings with rooftop solar, including our residence hall at 55H Street NW, Byrnes and Hayden Halls, and several townhouses on the Hilltop Campus. Once the new solar panels are installed at the ICC, they will generate approximately 806 MWh of renewable energy for the campus, enough to generate nearly one-third of the building’s electric consumption. All the removed material will be brought to an approved, specialized solar recycling location.
