Welcome Back Jack BBQ: Featuring Recycling and Composting Stations

Georgetown’s undergraduate students had the opportunity to use recycling and composting facilities at the classic Fall 2023 Welcome Back Jack barbecue. The Office of Sustainability (OOS) set up two stations for the event and were thrilled to witness enthusiastic Hoyas actively participating in waste sorting. OOS members, along with the Planning and Facilities Management team, collaborated with undergraduate volunteers to guide students in properly categorizing their waste into trash, recycling, and composting bins.

Sustainable kits
Welcome Back Jack also served as the ideal occasion to distribute our sustainable kits to students. We provided a sustainable bag featuring one of our unique sustainable sticker designs, along with eco-friendly utensils, straws, and reusable water bottles.
